DOCOMOMO International preserves the 20th century's Modernist buildings before they disappear.  Founded in 1990 in the Netherlands, the organization's name stands for "Documentation and Conservation of buildings, sites and neighborhoods of the Modern Movement." Today, it spans more than 80 countries. The organization hosts biennial international conferences drawing preservationists, architects, and historians worldwide. Their international register catalogs significant modern buildings, creating a global database of architectural gems.  Headquartered at TU Delft in the Netherlands since 2022, DOCOMOMO publishes research journals and coordinates national chapters that advocate for local preservation.
