From the Ventura Star Free Press, 2/21/1963: "a residential-recreational community in Port Hueneme and owned by the Carefree Living Association of Hueneme Bay has gotten underway... The construction contract was awarded to Wendy Homes Inc. and Simon Builders Inc. both of Beverly Hills." At the center of the community is the clubhouse where residents meet to socialize, attend group meetings in one of two meeting rooms, or join a game of poker in the card room.
