WHITNEY ROWLAND SMITH (1911-2002)
DIVINA VISTA, MONTEREY PARK CA

Designed with Wayne Williams for the Security Development Corporation. Smith and Williams argued that the problem of tract houses—small lots too close together—could be solved by skillful designers. They believed that "the house and lot must be intensively used together to result in a unit of total living."
