DEBORA (DEBY) JOANNA KLAUSNER REISER (1927-2023)

Reiser graduated from Pratt in 1948. She worked for George Nemeny and Abraham Geller. She introduced her engineer father, Edward Klausner, to the firm in 1948, starting a long collaboration on dozens of projects. She started her own firm in 1972, and in 1996 the firm became Reiser Umemoto Reiser with the addition of her son and his wife. She did the interiors and often the furniture for most of her projects. She never retired.

"As for women in architecture: when they give you the back, keep talking, and they will turn around." — Deby Reiser
