Part of the Make It Right Foundation project to provide low-cost housing for survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Co-founded by Brad Pitt in 2007, the charity built houses in New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward designed by notable architects. By 2015 the foundation had built 109 LEED Platinum homes. Legal action for building inadequate homes resulted in a $20.5 million settlement paid to homeowners in 2022.
